Harrison had a busy week this past week. After his shots, we worked on eating solids everyday and he officially loves peaches and sweet potatoes!!!
yay! This was a big step - he definitely wanted to take the easy way out with the bottle until he tasted the scrumptious organic peaches I bought!!!
Thursday, we visited my good friend and coworker, Adrienne, and her sweet baby girl who is weeks home from the hospital. After being born about 3 months before her due date,
Mabrey is home and doing wonderfully. Adrienne said the dogs are so overprotective of her that every time she cries, snorts, or even makes a peep, they are right by her side. She's only on oxygen for a little while longer and is up from about 1 1/2 lbs at birth to 7 1/2 lbs!
YAY! We loved meeting her and visiting. Besides Harrison wanting to eat everything his fingers touched, including their nice arm rest covers, he was on his best behavior for his new girlfriend's Mom.
Friday, we attempted our first Easter Egg Hunt at the
McNally's house. It was so much fun seeing all the little critters run around, excited about the hunt. Unfortunately, we had to leave before the hunt started because
nap time came a-calling. But, picture this.... Sue is 9 months pregnant and also has a son, Luke, who is almost 2, running around having a good
ol time. She dresses up like the Easter Bunny and all the kids scream and yell and run away!!! Poor thing. She gets Super Mom of the Year! As far as we were concerned, it was a great success and the breakfast casserole was amazing! Harrison also got to visit with Nathan, who we had not seen in 3 weeks because we have both been out of town. The boys are used to seeing each other probably 4 times a week, so we had missed them terribly. Crazily enough, when Lisa and Nathan walked through the door, Harrison's eyes lit up and he REACHED out for Nathan and started grabbing him!!!! It was so funny! They really were so excited to see each other. At one point, Harrison pulled Nathan so close, I was sure he was about to kiss him!!! Nuts! I was amazed!
My boys were so good Friday night. Amy's
bachelorette party started out at my house, where we had delicious
bellini martinis that David perfected that afternoon. (After 3 trial batches, he was a little crossed-eyed but, i digress..) ;) I sent them upstairs and we didn't hear a single peep out of them the entire evening! That's what I call a success!
Harrison had his first experience at a
crawfish boil Saturday evening. For those of you from GA reading this blog,
crawfish (or
MUDBUGS... ) is what they boil here in
Tejas. None of that good
ol Coastal GA Shrimp, unfortunately. It's always a treat for David to go to these boils or to
Rajun Cajuns since I pretty much stay away from the mud bugs because of my mysterious 3 year old allergy to shellfish, and we ofcourse had the best time at the
Howards on Saturday. Harrison was the youngest of the kiddos, but David treated him no differently! He had him practically riding a bike!!! Harrison was definitely not as amused as his father was!
Today, after the children's service at church, we wanted to show Harrison the Palm Sunday donkeys - again, he couldn't have cared less!!! I guess it was due the big horses he met in GA... "donkeys,
schmonkies."
Mabrey Stokes sleeping so sweetly (I love the pink horsey Wubba Nub!)
