Fun at Camp Smith (aka G-Jack and Grandaddy's House)

Harrison and I had the best time in Griffin visiting Mom and Dad. Not much has changed since I left town 12 years ago, but now my parents are both retired and have hobby after hobby! Mom has recently renewed her love for sewing since having a Grandchild, so we were busy trying to operate her new sewing machine. She's making Harrison's Easter outfit and monogramming towels for me! Dad has built about 6 boats in the past 6 months. He just finished a Chris Craft that is absolutely gorgeous and is currently working on a canoe for my brother, Andy, who lives in Utah. Harrison loved drilling with Grandaddy, riding horses (he warmed up on the last day we were there!), flying, and riding his new tractor that Grandaddy bought him. I loved catching up with the parentals, eating too much, drinking lots of wine, and watching my parents gloat with the joy that being Grandparents has brought them!

On Daddy's newly finished Chris Craft, named "Ole Baby" for my Mom!
Jackson Lake maiden voyage

Mom and Thelma brought down my old kitchen from when I was Harrison's age. He absolutely LOVED it!

G-Jack/Gran/Grandmother... we're not really sure what Harrison will want to call her!

Loving the dust buster!

After a night of dinner and drinks with my 2 best childhood girlfriends... We jumped on Mom and Dad in the bed, then coerced Mom to take a "once in a lifetime" picture of us!

A proud Grandaddy with his little follower... Harrison was at his heels the entire time!

Sara Elizabeth came to play - Harrison was absolutely smitten.

What a precious child!

Gaines also came to play, and Harrison was able to get some good baby talk in!

Harrison could not get enough of "Ci-Ci" and followed the poor cat around saying "here, Ci-Ci" the entire trip. By the time we left, he was saying "bye Cici" and "bye Bubba" (the horse). As David has said... it looks like we might have another animal lover/veterinarian in the family - the Smith genes are running strong in Harrison!

Loving his new John Deer Tractor! He can't really reach the pedal, so we had to press it down with a stick while he tried to steere. Really, we had to press the pedal AND steere and he rode like a king!

Harrison after his private tour of Griffin in Grandaddy's plane. During take off, he fell asleep within 30 seconds.

Landing - trying to wake Harrison!

Children's Day Inn

Harrison started his little "pre-preschool" on Thursday. He'll be attending every Thursday for 2 hours. It was so hard dropping him off - much harder on me than him! I totally did not expect to break down - afterall, it's only TWO hours! But, my tears started streaming as soon as I walked out of the door! After 20 minutes to regain my composure and some retail therapy at Anthropologie, I was more than ready to pick him up at 1145. When I walked in, he had eaten lunch and was as happy as a clam. He hugged me tightly, gave me a kiss, and started playing again! I was so relieved to see how well he adjusted and his "report card" stated he was happy and busy all morning! This is definitely going to help us both prepare for the two day two's at St. Martin's in August!

More Playtime!

I LOVE my cowboy boots and want to wear them all the time, but I find myself tripping alot!
This grocery store trip is so much more fun with Nathan!

Man, this kid likes to give hugs all the time!
Harrison loved to give Nathan hugs all week. They followed each other around like puppy dogs- Nathan called for "Hair-son" at all times. On the last night they were here, Harrison had gone to bed and Nathan was playing down stairs when he found a green paci of "Hair-son." He immediately ran to his Mom shouting "HAIR-SON, HAIR-SON" with such a devasted and concerned look on his face like, "here is his paci, but where is my buddy!?!"

Playgroup fun!

Two peas in a pod!

The boys had so much fun at the Children's Museum. The "tot spot" is amazing and kept them entertained until lunchtime!

What is the deal with brooms? My child LOVES brooms and will go right to the closet and ask for one!

I'm coming to get you Nathan!

Catch me if you can!

The Houston Rodeo

My dear friend Lisa came to town on Monday. I've been counting down the days for weeks. Her little man, Nathan, is 3 weeks older than Harrison, so we had a busy week of playdates planned for the two.
On Tuesday we ventured down to the Houston Rodeo - such a big deal in TX. It was really cool to see the cow roping, amusement park, exhibits (cow birthing and egg hatching!), and petting zoo. The boys we so good and absolutely loved the morning.

I love having a my best bud to play with at 730 in the morning!

Not so sure about this goat, Mom!

Bye Bye Pfizer!

Two weeks ago, I resigned from Pfizer. A wonderful opportunity to work part time in the Medical Center came my way and I could not pass it up! Harrison and I have been having so much fun and are headed to GA for 10 days on March 8th.

Unfortunately, we spent the last weeks of February battling upper respiratory viruses, ear infections (Harrison's first and my first in adulthood!), and a stomach virus (David). Harrison was so pitiful - we hated seeing him sick.

We're still here!

I am living in crazy land at the moment! Our wonderful nanny had told me the first week in January that she is prego (yay!), but she began to have some complications mid January. Thankfully, the baby is okay now, and we are also thankful to have her back full time! Mom flew in from GA to rescue us for a few days and David's parents were back and forth many, many times. We were so lucky!

Preschool registration/decision making started in 2010. After touring several schools, I've decided to start Harrison in a Mother's Morning Out program in March (1 morning a week) thru July. In late August, he'll attending St. Martin's Episcopal Preschool with the 2 day 2's! We are so excited about the wonderful opportunities he will be provided at this school. We also have officially joined St. Martin's Episcopal Church and have loved attending classes and sermons for the past year.

Just to leave you with two "Aubrey-isms" from my week.... (i am a total doofus with no coordination - we are still hoping HP got David's gene on that one!)
1 - I am in CVS picking up cough drops. David requested Mother's animal cookies ( we luv these), so I walk down the food aisle and see they have WINE for CHEAP! To the WINE i go... with a left hand full, i grab two bottles with the right. uh-oh. one red bottle is going down... for the count... crash... as i try to "break the fall" with my shoe, i knock another one over. POOP!
2 - So, now I am at the GYM and I am running, running on the treadmill, not even noticing my jacket draped over the side of the arm. Jacket falls, treadmill eats jacket, makes load noise, come to a complete stop from a 6mph jog, catapulting the runner (that would be me) off the treadmill! Now, my jacket is still caught in the treadmill and i have whiplash!!! :) hooray!

We did have a wonderful Valentines - this weekend we went to music class, gym class, to the park, to playdates, and Daddy cooked breakfast this morning and dinner tonight! YAY! (oh, and david and i saw Valentine's - such a cute movie - gotta see it!) It was a great long weekend for me, and tomorrow I have a holiday, so more fun is in store!

Hey ladies. You caught me...just got out of a really hot shower...I uh hope you like my snoopy robe...it's new.

Stop, Mom! You're making me bashful!

" Where are your boobies, Harrison?" "Here they are, Mom!!"

You make me laugh, Mom!

If Mama says sit down, I know she really means it after many times of trying to stand in my rocking chair!

Now, we're just missing Thomas and Ryan, but let's take the pic anyways, okay!?

Kristin (2 1/2), James (20mos), Jed (3 1/2), Harrison (16 mos)

Harrison Slye...cmon down. You're the next contestant on the Price is Right.

I love to be NAKED!

Mom , please be honest...does this diaper make me look fat?

"Harrison, give Buzz a kiss... "

"But, you need to pucker up your lips like this."

"There ya go - almost there!" Buzz won't mind a little tongue today, right? :)
