Busy September!

Where does the time go? I have snapped a few pics over the last few weeks with my terrible I phone camera.... I think my Nikon probably feels a big neglected at this point! It's just been too crazy!

A few highlights from September thus far:
- Harrison is loving preschool. He's absolutely thriving in his little class of 8. There are 5 girls and 3 boys. The other 2 boys are twins and leave before lunch, so Harrison is with his 5 "girlfriends" until I pick him up around 2pm! David and I attended a wonderful parent dinner Thursday night and Harrison's teachers told us some funny stories about him. Supposedly all the girls make him sit down and "serve" him "dinner" from the play kitchen. Then they all feed each other!!! The teachers said the girls just dote over Harrison. I know he's just loving it... this is probably a good reason why he doesn't even look back when I drop him off in the mornings!!! We are seriously so pleased with this wonderful school. Last week they flew a music/story teller down from NY to be with each class individually. In addition, Harrison is getting a motor skills class, music class, and art class each week. David is so excited about the motor skills class and specifically asked the retired PE teacher to work on throwing the football next week!

- David had a wonderful guys weekend this past weekend in Austin. The MBA guys did fantasy football, played poker, went to the UT game, and hung out at an amazing house near Lake Travis all weekend. And today, David and Harry went to the Texans game! Ofcourse the 1 time Daddy isn't home, Harrison decides to be "that toddler" at lunch on Saturday. I was so embarrassed as he raked his hand across the table, sending food flying. After this long weekend, I made it abundantly clear to David that he really owes me that Louis Vuitton I have been eyeing for a few months. :)

- As for my crazy schedule... I took on repping for a darling clothing line called Hannah Kate with another Mom from my neighborhood. We worked on this all week and still have to pack up the clothes. The clothes are so precious that they sell themselves, but it was just a big time commitment! I'm tired! In addition, I have beeen working so hard on the Holy Strollers Moms Group at church, as i'm social chair this year. Our church is St. Martin's Episcopal Church and is 8,000 strong, so our mom's group is 400 moms! We have so much fun stuff planned, and have been so busy with the newsletter, stuffing envelopes, etc. It's just been a crazy few weeks... and Jr. League is about to ramp up, so it's going to get even crazier!! But, David and I are headed to Napa for a weekend at the end of September, so that will be a great little reprieve!

I LOVE ICE CREAM

AND FROZEN YOGURT! Now that I've been doing "Deceptively Delicious," I do feel a lot better about the veggies that Harrison's consuming and have been a little more lenient on frozen yogurt and ice cream! And today at the Ministry Fair at church, he even had his first Reece's cup! (it was gone in 2 shakes)

Totally obsessed with machinery.

The wedding of the century!!!

My bestest friend from childhood got married this weekend in Atlanta. After months and months of planning, her wedding weekend was seamless and stunning. She was the most gorgeous bride ever and I was honored to stand under the chuppah with her!

Almost TWO!

We've had a busy few weeks... Harrison loves to use his potty these days, which I am very excited about! His newest trick is counting to ten. This past weekend when we were in Atlanta for Bec's wedding, he woke us up from his little pack-n-play by counting... we hear, "eight, nine, TEN!" Everyday theres a new word or better pronunciation. With 5 of the 8 children in his preschool class being girls, he's destined to mature this year!!! :)

Harrison will be absolutely exhausted, but we still have to tear him away from his new train table every night!

Can't decide which book to read to myself...
okay, here's Puff...

Last thing I do at night... first thing I do when I wake!

Grandparents, Preschool, and lots of Playtime!

We've been so busy since returning from our beach trip at Jekyll Island! Harrison's nanny stopped coming the 3rd week of July, at 9 1/2 months pregnant, and she had her baby girl while we were at the beach. We miss her so much! Luckily for our childcare situation, we've been traveling a lot, but since we returned, David's parents have been helping out sooo much. My Mom also flew in for a week last week. The grandparents have been so helpful the past 2-3 weeks helping out during the bridge time before preschool started. Harrison will be attending school 2 short days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the other day I work, his first nanny, Reyna, will be taking care of him.

Below are some pics of Harrison's first 2 hour day at preschool. His class is precious - there are 5 girls and 3 boys. Miss Melissa and Miss Lou Ann are wonderful and we're really looking forward to a fun year ahead at St. Martin's!

Harrison is absolutely in love with all his trucks, cars, and tractors. He can entertain himself for long periods of time just making vroom-vroom noises! I had to get David to teach me how to make all the crazy dump truck/tractor sounds... sad, I know, but you all that grew up with me know what a total girlie-girl I am!!

Enamored

Harrison has become a great helper in the kitchen. We even made a banana bread together on Friday!

Gran, Harrison, and I had so much fun playing, singing, and dancing while she was here! It was so wonderful having my Mom here for a visit. She was able to see Harrison's cute little preschool and go to visitation with me. She also took Harrison to Gymboree and for a visit at David's parents house while I worked. And somehow (in all that other spare time) she managed to dwindle away my laundry pile! We visited, drank some wine, and cooked/pureed a TON of veggies for "Deceptively Delicious!"

Harry and Audrey (Granpa and Granma) have been amazing these past few months. When I had to cram in my end-of-year obligations for Jr. League in May, they were here ready to babysit! And most recently, before preschool started, they were here sometimes 2 of the 3 days I worked! Harrison LOVED having them here!

Jekyll Island We Miss You!

Our week at Jekyll was surreal. The island is a true treasure and has a special place in my heart from childhood, our wedding, and now a wonderful beach vacation. We had intentions on driving back the sailboat that Dad gave us, but plans changed last week when work got beyond crazy for David. Harrison and I booked our flight and arrived Sunday afternoon to Jekyll Island. We missed Daddy sooo much!
Our wonderful week was spent on the beach, in the sailboat, on the tractor, on the bikes and napping! My Mom told me to "come and just have a week of relaxation," and that's just what I did! This is the first vacation that I have ever returned from in the past few years where I actually did not feel totally smashed the day after returning. There is nothing like the beach to revive a tired Mama!
Harrison really had a blast on the beach. He was intrigued by the seagulls, as he's always loved birds. My Dad brought his John Deer down from Griffin, so Harrison had a wide open space truck along! He is so much like me, though, and gets overly HOT really easily, so we would end up lugging everything over the "erosion wall" for just an hour or so of beach time. We did this multiple times a day, and by the end of the trip we had it down to a science!

We made our way over to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel one afternoon. It's still every bit as beautiful as when David and I were married there 4 1/2 years ago. The cottage we rented for weekend brought back such wonderful memories... I don't know when the next occasion will be when we can rent a 13 bedroom cottage, but whenever it is you'll find us at Jekyll again!

We all have our water for our drip castles!

I'm ready to go feed the birds Mama!

Having a laugh with Grandaddy!

My chin is sure salty...

Now, who was relaxing again??!!!!?
